09 Feb NEXTi2i Holds Second Edition(Class One) of the Lean Research Introductory Class.

On February 3, 2021, the New Entrepreneurs Xchange for Transformation: Idea to Impact project (NEXTi2i), held the second edition of the Lean Research Introductory Class. This was a virtual convening. The program was facilitated by Dr. Gordon Adomdza; NEXTi2i Program Director, Arkeisha Amissah-Arthur; NEXTi2i MEL Manager and Kendra Leith; Associate Director for Research at MIT-DLab and NEXTi2i Co-lead for Lean Research.
Arkeisha Amissah-Arthur, in her presentation highlighted some very key features of lean research and why it has become a pivotal approach in carrying out research intended to inspire action and change. ‘Lean research gives users a framework to orient the experience of the research subjects and stakeholders around their priorities and insights from design and implementation’, says Arkeisha.
Participants of the program were treated to insightful presentations from some project leads, who had taken a Lean Research Masterclass with the NEXTi2i in 2020.
Project titles included: Investigating the Effectiveness of the Community Health Management Team in the Management of CHPS Compounds in Ghana, led by Aaron K. Nartey, Founder, Every Human Life Ghana (EHL-Ghana)

Analysing and Improving Drying Methods of Vegetables in Northern Ghana to Reduce Post Harvest Losses, led by Zakariyao Abdul-Kawiyu, General Manager, Hub Upper West.

Public Procurement Collaboration as a Strategic tool to Enhancing the Performance of Ghanaian Universities: A Case of a College of Health Science, led by Mawuli Kobla Amedofu, SC Lead (Dext Technology Limited), Student.

Employable Digital Skills for the Youth in Kumasi, led by Mark Anim Sasu, Program’s Coordinator, PEAP HR.

From their presentations and experiences shared, lean research is responsible, resource-efficient, respectful, sensitive to stakeholder needs, and a highly recommended approach for social research.
